Weekend comforts

There are so many things I love about the weekend – not having to get up early, no morning rush, no running for the bus in the rain, no missing out on coffee because I’m running late…but there is one other thing.

So we’ve established I’m not a morning person! Every morning, particularly in winter, all I want to do is throw on the most comfortable clothes I own. My next thought always goes to my schedule for the day – do I have a client or journalist meeting? Do I have an evening event?

As much as I love to dress up, there are those days (and as I said they come more frequently during the cold weather), where  I just want to be comfortable without the hassle of making sure I’m presentable.

I’m lucky enough to work in an office that is incredibly laid back about dress code, the most laid back of all the places I’ve worked in fact. But even I know that whilst jeans and an old t-shirt is fine on days when I’m stuck in the office all day, wearing scuffed up old brogues and layered tees won’t go down well for an evening media event.

So, for those reasons, this post is dedicated entirely to weekend comforts. Now to squeeze them all in, there are quite a few I warn you!

Agreed, I think an off duty look is always needed for the weekend. I am mad about candles and recently bought some Ralph Lauren ones that create the sort of dreamy relaxed environment needed for the weekend!
