I literally cannot wait to watch The Great Gatsby, I love the book and to see it in film will be even better.
The drama, the music – but most of all, the FASHION.
The 1920s is said to be when fashion really entered the modern world and I do think much of the style can easily be worn today. I think the main attractions is probably the decadence and sequins – you may have noticed by now that I love a sequin or two!
Italian designer Miuccia Prada designed the twenties-inspired costumes for The Great Gatsby and the sketches look fabulous. I just can’t believe we all have to wait until May to watch it – come on summer, hurry up!
There are over 40 different looks all featuring sequins, fringing, crystal embellishment, fur, velvet, tulle and more.
Clothes aside, it’s a Baz Luhrmann film so it’s bound to be amazing – I’m thinking back to the Romeo & Juliet days.
Catherine Martin, Mr Luhrmann’s wife and Mrs Prada’s co-designer, told Vogue.co.uk: ‘Baz and Miuccia have always connected on their shared fascination with finding modern ways of releasing classic and historical references from the shackles of the past.’
