For the love of stripes

As most of you are probably aware, I have a slight problem when it comes to stripey tops!

In fact, most of my tops are either grey….or stripey! So imagine my excitement when an Emerald Street e-newsletter popped up in my inbox with one of headlines reading ‘all the striped tops you could want.’ *click*

Personally, I thought the classic Breton top was made popular by the wonderful Coco Chanel, however it was first worn as part of the French naval uniform in Brittany – and had to feature 21 stripes, one for each of ┬áNapolean’s victories! There’s a little history lesson for you, now back to fashion!

I haven’t actually counted for 21 stripes but these are some Amazing Breton tops:

I am firmly of the opinion you can’t have too many stripy tops (and my wardrobe is testing the theory. Currently in River Island blue and white). That minty John Lewis one looks tempting too!
