London Fashion Week

We’re in the midst of one of the two busiest times of year for the fashion world – Fashion Week!

I have mixed feelings about London Fashion Week, I remember wanting to go SO badly for years and then, one day – my first invitation! The excitement! I had hardly stopped squealing when the next few came in (accompanied by colleagues peering over my shoulder to see if a plus 1 was included!)

Fast forward two years and I’m not in London but if I was, I’m not sure I would be going to any of the shows. On the one hand, I was honoured to go and the adrenaline as the lights go down and runway is revealed is incredible.

On the other hand, I really had no right to be there – who am I?! I write a small fashion and lifestyle blog for goodness sake. Fashion Week used to be such an exclusive event and I think, for me at least, that was partly the appeal! It’s human nature to want what you can’t have – if everyone and anyone can go it’s not quite as exciting or special!

Having said that, I do like to follow from my own little corner of the internet, I still love what’s being shown at Fashion Week even if not the way the catwalks are now run.

Having been following the first few days online, my current favourite feature is the live sketches straight from the FROW!
