Last weekend a few friends and I made our way to Pier 7 at Dubai Marina to sample the latest new opening Fumé Eatery.
Self-labelled as a casual, family-friendly neighbourhood restaurant, Fumé promises fresh and affordable food.
First impressions last the longest and the decor is great, I love the vintage touches, it’s a cross between a more rough around the edges Jamie Oliver’s Italian and a typical New York restaurant.
The menu is so varied even the fussiest eater will find something they’ll like and the dishes are broken down so it’s great for sharing as you can order several dishes for the whole table to tuck into, think Tapas but slightly bigger.
Here’s what we had (between four of us):
– Edamame with salt
– Honey and chili marinated chicken
– Tiger prawns
– Bok Choy in oyster garlic sauce
– Punky carrots
– Smashed potatoes
– Black Forest Naked Jar
– Date and Banana Pudding
– Home-made snickers
– Jam doughnuts & custard
All washed down with apple and elderflower mojitos and orange, lime and pink grapefruit mocktails.
For anyone who likes a drink with their meal, they don’t have their alcohol license yet but plan to get one – in the meantime I can recommend the mocktails which are delicious 🙂
Overall I’d give it an 8 out of 10 and the only negative I’d say is the service…which was pretty bad when we went!
The food was so good though I’d give it a second chance and put the first experience down to teething problems.
Go forth and stuff yourselves!
