Whilst this is a Friday brunch it isn’t the typical brunch you’re probably picturing. This is more relaxed affair – think live cooking stations, personalised mini macarons, an intimate terrace and just for fun – a lolly pop making stand!
The focus of the brunch in essence is – eat your way around the world. There is a whole team of (very friendly) international chefs cooking up delicious dishes for you to enjoy, everything from seafood to curry to roast lamb with all the trimmings (23 of them to be exact).
We opted for a table outside on the terrace to take advantage of the great weather and were quickly brought some chilled water and a little picnic basket (really nice touch) of freshly baked bread and a selection of dips in mini mason jars.
Although we didn’t quite make it all the way round the cooking stations we gave it our best effort – between us we sampled the salad bar, prawns, beef Rendang curry with coconut rice, vegetable curry and tamarind chicken.
Of course I’m building up to my favourite bit – DESSERT! Anyone that doesn’t have a sweet tooth, there is something wrong with you if you don’t find this section exciting. This was by far the most inventive corner of brunch, I’m sure it was intended more for kids than adults but it was right up my street! From individual mini macarons floating in plastic bubbles within goldfish bowls of water (no fish I might add) to a lolly pop station where you could make your own chocolate lollies and a tree with all kids of goodies hanging from the branches. So lovely.
It’s reasonable too with prices starting at AED295 per person. If you’re looking for a laid back, casual brunch I’d recommend it (if you like curry). And if you do go don’t forget to use #FeastDubai!
Excuse the sub-standard pictures, clearly had some camera issues that day! Thanks to the Sheraton team for having us.
