Colour of the year – 2014

So the official Pantone colour of the year for 2014 has been announced – Radiant Orchid!

The international authority on all things colour, Pantone, has chosen a bright purple as the colour of the year. Described as “a captivating, magical, enigmatic purple”, Radiant Orchid looks set to make its mark on the beauty, fashion and design worlds in 2014!

This can include the entertainment industry and films that are in production, travelling art collections, hot new artists, popular travel destinations and other socio-economic conditions. Influences may also stem from technology, availability of new textures and effects that impact colour, and even upcoming sports events that capture worldwide attention,” said a Pantone representative.

“For more than a decade, Pantone’s Colour of the Year has influenced product development and purchasing decisions in multiple industries, including fashion, home and industrial design, as well as product packaging and graphic design.”

Radiant Orchid replaces 2013’s Emerald Green. Here’s how to embrace a bi of purple in 2014:
