Central Park was one of the highlights of our New York trip. We were lucky with both our hotel and weather (cold but no rain!) so set out on a walking tour of Manhattan and the park.
On thing I take for granted living in London is the number of green areas that Londoners can enjoy. New York by contrast, seemed more a mix of grey and brown. So when you reach Central Park it is even more impressive – and also gigantic!
If you’re in New York in winter, wrap up warm and dedicate at least one whole morning/afternoon to wandering round Central Park – and make sure you walk all the way through, the different sights are incredible from the 10s of horse-drawn carriages to the sheer variety of musicians performing in their own little corners, we saw an opera singer, hip hop group, violinist and carollers!
And yes it was freezing when we took these pictures!
