Last weekend we were invited to try a new place for breakfast so we headed down to Bystro (near Jones the Grocer).
Here’s what we had (between 3):
- Short stack of pancakes with maple syrup
- Full English
- Smoke salmon
- Cappuccino and fresh OJ all round
What did we love? Firstly, the decor – simple but some nice touches such as the coloured floor tiles as you walk in, and the back wall covered in swirly scrawl. Oh and the service was good too.
It’s great for families as the restaurant is not too big so the little ones can’t wander off too far! The team also seemed to love having little ones to play with and chat to so it was a nice atmosphere for a casual weekend breakfast/brunch.
The patisserie section down the middle of the restaurant is also a nice touch, the cakes and pastries looked amazing (and the sticky toffee pudding was highly recommend) but alas, we were too full after our ambitious breakfast so we’ll be back to sample the sweets!
Only negative would be that the size of the fresh juices is quite stingy – although I’m only saying that because it was by far the best fresh OJ I’ve had in a long time and just wanted more!
Also – although the pictures below show an empty restaurant it was quite busy when we were there, I just took advantage of people leaving to snap various corners of the room!
