This Eid we did something we never do – we went on a mini break.
Just an hour’s drive from Dubai and once you’ve passed through Sharjah (and it’s crazy drivers) you realise the roads widen and you’re in the tiny emirate of Ajman.
In all the years I’ve lived in Dubai I don’t think I’ve ever actually been to Ajman – and only two trips to Sharjah that I can remember. One of which was an accident.
Ajman is tiny so once you’re there you find the two biggest hotels quite easily – Ajman Saray and Kempinski Ajman.
Our home for the weekend, Ajman Saray, was smaller than I’d imagined which was a good thing and luckily our room was ready even though we were pretty early (eager beavers).
Best things about the hotel? Friendly service from the entire team from check in till check out, a gorgeous room complete with balcony and sea view, delicious food and an amazing beach.
Any complaints? Not a complaint as such but avoid the beach restaurant if you’re after a quiet lunch as it got quite busy and therefore quite noisy! The menu is served by the beach and straight to your sun lounger on the beach though so there’s no need to get up!
