To celebrate the Frieze Art Fair, fashion label Acne has teamed up with London-based artist Daniel Silver to create a collection of what I’d call ‘wearable art’.
Silver lived in Africa as a child and the collection has clearly been inspired by African prints – combined with the typically Scandinavian cool of Acne.
The capsule collection features tri-colour dresses, dip-dyed jackates and African-inspired shirts.
“It happened organically”, explained Silver. “I met Thomas Persson, the editor of Acne Paper, at an opening of a show I was in at Lismore Castle and we became very good friends. Jonny Johansson saw the issue of the Acne paper I was photographed for and was interested to meet up with me and so we started to talk about processes of making and how it’s different or similar in fashion and in art.”
