Earlier this month I took my second trip to Bicester Village with a couple of girl friends for a day of shopping, lunching and gossiping – perfect after a long, stressful week!
Having only been to Bicester once before (in a haze of Mulberry-excitement) I was looking forward to going back, with one friend who’s been countless times (aka Bicester – Pro) and one friend who had never been, never even heard of it (aka Bicester – Newby).
We drove there from North London which was much more relaxing than taking the train and waiting for a shuttle bus, leaving London early meant we were able to get there when it was still relatively quiet – at about 9.40am. You definitely notice the difference when the coaches come in and dump a whole load of tourists into the picturesque little village – which soon turns a little chaotic!
We went with set shopping targets in mind, military planning and a day planned out for ourselves. First – put together a realistic shopping list. Then – the order at which we hit the shops and when to stop for lunch. First shops to visit were the ones we couldn’t leave without going into, then back to anything we had already decided had to be purchased, quick pit stop for lunch and a natter and then back to those undecided items to make a call. Quick coffee/refreshments pick up and back in the car about six hours later!
All in all it was a very successful day, between the three of us we managed purchases from MAC, Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Pandora and Superdry as well as a few others!
If you haven’t been to Bicester Village before then I definitely recommend it! If you can, try and go on a weekday morning as that will be the quietest time but whatever day you go (we went on a Saturday) get there as early as possible, it really does make a difference wandering round when it isn’t too busy, you feel a whole world away from the hustle and bustle of Bond Street!
More to come on purchases soon!
